Q: Dear friends,
What are your most effective ways of correcting malnutrition in the elderly?
In earlier protocols parenteral and enteral nutritional supplementation was standard of care in some conditions. The organization was called ASPEN. I see so many unhealthy, wealthy here in Aspen, Colorado. Due to housing shortages for nurses, even the very wealthy cannot find access to good care.

The queen of Aspen is being shipped off to an abysmal Nursing home 40 miles away tomorrow if we do not find answer: home health, organic foods, fresh flowers, the view of the mountains from her all glass sanctuary is our goal. Government requirements dictate that she has stayed the "legal limit" in the hospital. Who has answers to this "geriatric Gestapo" system?

The abuse, deception and manipulation by the nursing home chains is criminal. And many children of my patients come to me and say, "I am canceling my parents care with you." Which translated means......I am ready for them to die so that I can inherit their millions. Families cannot always be trusted to make good healthcare decisions for aging parents. Any thoughts? I fear that these nursing homes are "cash cows" for the investors as a first priority.

A: The crime with elderly in any situation is that most doc's don't have the ability to stabilize the aging process and since most wealthy people have access to the "best and brightest" docs, they don't see the people in this group (i.e. Chelation disc grp) until the get tired of not getting better. When you are told the getting older is a terminal illness, you accept that. Clearly at 48 I am in better shape than most of the kids my son and daughter has as friends (OK, maybe that isn't a big deal-kids being fat and all) but I saw my grandfather in law waste away in a nursing home with a mind sharp as a tack and he could have been home caring for himself with testosterone, DHEA and maybe a little HGH. Billions could be saved every year if all men (and women) were kept on $100 a month of supplements and hormones. So how do you reverse malnutrition overnight, you can't. it took years to develop and it will take some time to reverse and if the hormones aren't there to build protein (muscle), gut to absorb the nutrition, bone, etc, it won't work as quickly.
