I have read many articles on the different websites about EDTA suppositories. Most from websites belonging to companies manufacturing the mentioned items. And as a member of the DANISH EDTA PATIENT SOCIETY, and a receiver of the IV EDTA treatment, I will like to get your answers to the two very negative articles (found on websites) written by Garry F. I recently attended Crayhon's Boulderfest conference July 17-20 2008. Among the speakers was Rita Ellithorpe MD who spoke about her recent publication in JANA studying EDTA absorption in a rectal suppository delivery system called Detoxamin (World Health Products). Her study, conducted with mice, showed 36% bio-availability of the EDTA rectal delivery system compared to IV administration. The study also showed considerable EDTA uptake in the prostate which exceeded the IV uptake.

Effective EDTA Chelation: A Brief History

For decades IV EDTA chelation therapy has saved the lives of many people across the globe. With IV chelation (intravenous or given in the vein by needle), calcium disodium ethylenediaminetetraace-tic acid (CaNa2EDTA) is given slowly over three or four hours, at a dosage of two to three grams per treatment. The results of this therapy have literally given patients a new lease on life. Chelation therapy works by pulling out heavy metals from damaged hearts and heart valves, as well as from hidden stores within blood vessels, kidneys, and more. It has even pulled out the calcifications from arteries. Although it has been a miracle for many, like anything else it has its disadvantages:

• You need a chelation physician located in your city, and many people have had to travel several hours to find one.
• Once you get there, chelation is usually administered in SOOOmg dosages in a procedure that lasts three to four hours. This is generally done two to four times a week, for 30-60 weeks (or more).
• By forcing a chelation dose of 3 grams into the body over a short period of time, unecessary stress is placed on organs, such as the kidneys.
• The cost is usually more than $150.00 per session, not counting travel and time away from work.
• Blood studies reveal that plasticizers from the IV bags and tubing accumulate in the blood¬stream and later end up contaminating the rest of the body. These plastics from IV's often end up in the peroxisomes — little organelles inside the cells (except mature red blood cells because they have lost their nuclei). They quietly damage the chemistry needed by all cell membranes and thereby lead to further diseases, including high blood pressure.

So as life saving as EDTA chelation has been, it is time consuming, difficult, inconvenient, unphysi-ological, potentially dangerous and expensive. You might say it is detoxification done in the vein. But due to all these negatives, it is really done in vain.

Dear Michael,
You’re loosing heavy metals, seeing very well in the blood test, and getting rid of plaque in your arteries.
Most heavy metals stored in the brain; so some people reporting some headache; further its improving
also sexual health, because of the improvement of the circulatory system. High blood pressure is so normalized.
I recommend everyone 90 treatments in regular cases.
I always advice to take Detoxamin together a chelated mineral vitamin supplement together (Vita balance 2000) otherwise, you can have serious mineral problems, because you are loosing also minerals during the chelation and they have to replaced;

Thank you. I have bought more Vita Balance so I am following the 90 treatment program that you have recommended. I am also going to continue the liver and kidney tonics for this same period.

One question that I have is that I have been suffering from fatigue for some months (I had 3 large old mercury fillings removed last September). After how long treatment would you expect that I would see some improvement in fatigue and a general lift in energy?
