Q: Since I started using oxy-powder about a year ago it has changed my life. I went from being continually stressed about my lack of bowel movements to relieved and happy. I am now three months pregnant and have used oxy-powder almost every day throughout - and only now read the cautions about this.

The fact that I am still carrying and have not had a miscarriage, tells me that oxy must be fairly safe to take - I really hate normal laxatives. Should I stop taking oxy now? Do you think that the minerals/chemicals could have harmed the fetus???

A: There is no reason to believe or evidence to suggest that a fetus would be harmed in any way. Most supplements are not recommended for use during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester, because they have not been evaluated in this context. I would advise you to consult with your doctor regarding your continued usage during pregnancy. Many doctors are willing to work with their patients regarding Oxy-Powder and will allow them to continue using it at a reduced dosage.
