Is a yeast infection an STD?

Yeast infections generally cannot be transmitted through sexual intercourse, but there is always that chance that it can happen.

It can be. Not usually however. It is more likely that your partner will give you the infection rather than the other way around, however it is possible for you to pass it on. Most likely if he is uncircumcised. However he can solve that problem with liberal use of soap and water. Especially under the foreskin.

While a yeast infection can be passed sexually, it is not classified as an STD.

A yeast infection is not an STD. STD stands for 'sexually transmitted disease.' Therefore each is named what it is.
