We have many brain disorders, epilepsy, schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, ADHD, there are many more. Unfortunately almost half the population suffers from a type of disorder. Hoarding is a mental disorder, kleptomania, paranoia.

So now I ask can Religion be a mental disorder. For example you believe in Santa Clause as a kid, your parents tell you about it, you believe it as a kid, and then one day you grow up and you realize it's not real. Now what if you continued to believe in Santa Clause for the rest of your life. Would this be a mental disorder, if you honestly believed that Santa is coming at 40 years old, or 50 years old, and you still wrote Santa a letter. So now take religion, you believe in someone who doesn't exist, like Santa, yet you pray and go to church and believe, because people wrote a book called a bible and so you continue believing. You never saw any Jesus or God in front of you unless you are hallucinating, so I ask,

I can check Healthcare Solution Video on internet but I didn't find the right solution. Any shared experience on a similar matter or additional things I could do would be appreciated.

Is religion a form of mental illness??
