Q: Various enzyme formulas produce great clinical results by breaking down particular proteins in the body such as fibrinogen and cellular debris. Some patients may be using a number of such preparations concurrently. As enzymes are also proteins, what is known about one enzyme potentially breaking down other enzymes? Are there certain enzymes that should be taken away from each other, e.g., will lumbrokinase or nattokinase if taken with Wobenzyme destroy one another?

A: Dear Doctor:
I love Wobenzym and live on 10 twice a day. Fibrozym uses a different enzyme, which fits vegetarians better and also works slightly differently so I am taking it too, as I believe we all need LOTS of enzymes the older we get. It has other ingredients for arthritis and pain and stiffness so they are complementary not exclusionary.
