A1: Granuloma Annulare is an inflammatory condition.

The following treatments have been successful in my patients:

Wobenzym
Niacinamide, 1,000mg BID (NOT Niacin)
Traumeel homeopathic tablets
Traumeel gel or ointment
Topical steriods (Rx)
Intralesional steroids (for individual lesions)

In a case of generalized widespread GA I would also try ACS and ASZ.

A2: i have seen a lot of GE that turned out to be fungus and when treated appropriately (make sure they are on a sugar free low carb diet-yeast diet) and you can test them for their response to fluconazole (which is really cheap now). personally i find that yeast may be the greater imitator there is. I have seen what i thought was actinic keratosis, contact dermatitis, psoriasis and GE all clear up on fluconazole. It is worth a try. Jeff Baird DO

A3: Strict adherence to a low carbohydrate diet will cure this condition within 3 months. No more than 30 grams of carbohydrate can be consumed. No grains and absolutely no sugars -- carbs are mainly from fresh vegetables. Consume Caprilic acid twice daily and follow a yeast free protocol.
