Q: I have a patient who takes IV Vitamin C for breast cancer. She has had dozens of treatments. Today, she experienced circumoral paresthesia (like hyperventilation) after a 5 ml NS flush. Has anyone encountered this? Is this a hypocalcemic reaction? I use 400 mg MgCl2 in 100 cc water and Vit C.

Thanks,

Douglas Hopper MD

Dear Doctors:
We need to think about rotating our nutritional support for Cancer patients.

They all need detox and ACS 200 from their doctor. They need my Power Drink with or without Maca but at least the Beyond Fiber and Beyond C and Dr Gordon's Green drink. Since Iron feeds cancer the Wobenzym for many reasons needs to be part of the ongoing program.

They should always be on Immuni-T3 but we could logically use both 2 and 3 for the first month, like 2 tid of each then after that rotate using that dose but just one month of 2 then one of 3.

Then with the more active targeted Cancer therapies like Poly MVA, Haelan, Artemisinin, Carnivora Liquid AND Caps (always use both as active cancer or serious Lyme etc needs liquid, which is stronger than caps by far) and so on. Since no one can afford to take all of these forever they could rotate and use these one month on then another for one month etc. There are many others that people will want to try and we support them trying things that seem to make sense to them.

If breast Cancer, I would also use HRT Plus, as well as for osteoporosis and prostate disease and even early memory impairment; remember this is B12 and three forms of folic acid.

Any one with any concerns about heart disease or weak bones must add Beyond Bone Defense.

Of course I feel that Beyond Chelation-Improved is the foundation that makes all the above work better.

Sincerely,

A1: Vitamin C is a mild chelator and in high doses can drive calcium out of the bloodstream. Usually 5g IVC is easily tolerable by adults, but higher doses (especially when not given slowly) can lead to hypocalcemic reactions. While there are docs who think calcium shouldn't ever be given to people, in this case we're just replacing what the C is removing. I think something like 5-10cc of calcium (10%?- I'm not at the office to check these things) for each 25g of C is usually sufficient.

A2: It is my understanding that Vitamin C is no longer manufactured in the USA. Supposedly the last company in the USA closed last year that made Vit. C closed last year. So the safety of vitamin C is questioned. Betty Martini stated that it has been known that aspartame has contained metal shavings since 2005. So hqw about a Cina syndrome. Safe food supplements? Who assays the imports.

A5: NS flush is normal saline flushed into the IV. You should flush with at least 3cc of NS before and after every IV push.

A6:I have administered several hundred IV vitamin C infusions. We add 250 mg of Mag-sulfate to each 25 grams, which can mitigate the hypocalcemic effects of high dose IV C, and have not had any problems with symptoms of hypocalcemia.
