The diabetic diet may be used alone or else in combination with insulin doses or with oral hypoglycaemic drugs. Main objective of diabetic diet is to maintain ideal body weight, by providing adequate nutrition along with normal blood sugar levels in blood.

All types of diabetes are treatable, but Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes last a lifetime; there is no known cure. The patient receives regular insulin, which became medically available in 1921. The treatment for a patient with Type 1 is mainly injected insulin, plus some dietary and exercise adherence.

Patients with Type 2 are usually treated with tablets, exercise and a special diet, but sometimes insulin injections are also required.

If diabetes is not adequately controlled the patient has a significantly higher risk of developing complications, such as hypoglycemia, ketoacidosis, and nonketotic hypersosmolar coma. Longer term complications could be cardiovascular disease, retinal damage, chronic kidney failure, nerve damage, poor healing of wounds, gangrene on the feet which may lead to amputation, and erectile dysfunction.

Diabetes cannot be cured but it can be controlled with the help of some precautionary actions like one should avoid to have potato, rice and sweet. In order to prevent or balance the diabetes, one has to make habit for regular walking as well as should have 1 spoon powder of Neem, gokhru and amla twice a day. In other word you can say " Diabetes is a slow killer " if one cannot be alert about its diet. If it goes beyond the limit, then anything can be happened like heart fail, retinal damage, chronic kidney failure, nerve damage, poor healing of wounds, gangrene on the feet which may lead to amputation.

Diabetes is a very common disease in our country. As few of my family members are suffering from the disease,I would be more than happy to know the possible cures of the disease.
I have few questions and some suggestions.

I have been told by many people that the disease is uncureable. Is it true?

I would like to suggest 3 things for the patients of diabetes:

1.Burn calorie as much as you can by walking or any kind of physical exercise.
2.Diet is the most important thing.
3.Regular blood sugar tests to track the improvements.
